Old game but definately a classic. This is the original version (1993) from the developer of Microsofts Freelancer.
In Privateer you play a rogue smuggler (like Hans Solo). Your objective is to perform missions for profit in an effort to expand your enterprise. Along the way, your pulled into the plot of helping the confederation defeat an ancient alien spacecraft.
